Each month there will be a new SWAPS-tastic! July  theme: Starry NightGirl Scouts will receive an email with the instruction video and a package in the mail filled with materials they will need to create 3 different styles of SWAPS that correlate to this month's theme. The video will give you step-by-step instructions on how to craft your SWAPS! These kits are perfect for everyone! Troops, individuals, and adults! This is a wonderful way to keep the Girl Scout Tradition of crafting SWAPS thriving and inspiring others to make their own SWAPS creations!

Daisies and Brownies may require adult assistance.

Video & Mail: Video and materials will be sent out after registration has closed at 9:00 AM on the last day of the month.

Materials: Please have the following supplies ready for when your package arrives:

  • Craft Glue (example: Tacky Glue)
  • Scissors
  • (Optional: Hot Glue Gun & Hot Glue Sticks)

SWAPS supplies will be mailed to you.

Q: When do I make my SWAPS?

A: Anytime you feel SWAPS-tastic! SWAPS are to be crafted at each Girl Scout's pace!

About SWAPS: Girl Scouts often make SWAPS, small tokens or keepsakes, to exchange with other Girl Scouts they meet especially at large events or while traveling. They serve as reminders for memories, special events, and badges!

History: SWAPS made their first appearance at the National Girl Scout Senior Roundup in the 1950s and 1960s. Historically, SWAPS were a way for Girl Scouts to stay connected. Sort of a Girl Scout business card!

Tradition: SWAPS are a Girl Scout Tradition. Traditions remind Girl Scouts of their long history and help remind them they belong to an inclusive sisterhood!
